Be sure you are keeping up with your blog posting.

By now I have read all of your blogs, and you will find my comments on your posts.  Be sure you are responding to each other's comments (and mine).  I look forward to reading these blogs over the next few weeks.  Be sure you are keeping up with your posting.

On another note, here is a bit more about me professionally:

Erin has been the Director of the ASC at Kendall College since August 2005. During that time, she helped expand the ASC from a small office that seated 13 to a larger center offering seating for over 100, including a room for ADA test accommodations and a small group meeting room. Erin has two graduate degrees, a M.A. in Developmental/Adult Education from National-Louis University and a M.S. in Library and Information Sciences from Drexel University. She facilitates the Bridge Mentorship in both COL 050 and COL 060, as well as instructs the Developmental English course and ELI program.  Prior to coming to Kendall, Erin worked in nursing education and development, where she taught American Heart Association courses. She has been a certified AHA instructor since 2001.

Name:  Mrs. Erin Shelley

Born and raised in Evanston/Chicago, USA

What school?  I work at Kendall College

What are you studying?  What is your major? I studied English, and teaching reading and writing literacy and Library and Information Sciences

What are your hobbies?
Traveling, reading, playing with my kids, and gardening

Discuss your family.

I am an only child, so I have no brothers or sisters.  I have a husband, Michael and we have twins, Caterina and Josep.  In July, we are expecting child #3!

What do you want to do while you are in Chicago?

Visit the Skydeck at Willis Tower

What do you think the Picasso sculpture represents?

The untitled Picasso in Daley Plaza always reminded me of a jungle cat or lion, like a mystical cartoon animal.

Please discuss your visit to the Cultural Center and/or your first days in Chicago.  Feel free to include pictures and video, if you want.

Sadly, I missed this trip, so I have nothing to report.

What was your favorite piece of art at the Art Institute?  Please describe it.  What else did you visit?  Add any other comments or descriptions of your visit.  Feel free to include pictures and video, if you want.

I love the blue Chagall window.  It's always my favorite.  I always visit it on a trip to the Art Institute.

I also love Georgia O'Keefe's giant cloudscape painting.  This painting is not my favorite, but I love the space, as it's located at the top of a quiet double staircase.  It's a serene place to visit.

Finally, the new Modern Wing is also interesting.  Here are some pictures from the street.  You might notice that the bridge is accessible from across the street, in Millennium Park.
